LUME: A flame from Home.
LUME started with a simple question: “What if I tried making my own candle?”
I’ve always loved candles. I was constantly buying them—drawn to the way a single flame could shift the mood of a room, bring comfort, or mark a quiet moment. One day, instead of adding another candle to my collection, I decided to try making one myself.
It began as a hobby, something I did at home just for fun. But the more I experimented, the more I fell in love with the process. I learned how scent and wax work together, how to pour by hand, how to create a candle that didn’t just smell beautiful—it felt special. What started as curiosity quickly turned into passion.
That’s when LUME was born.
Lume means fire in Galician—the language spoken in Galicia, the region in northwest Spain where I’m from. For me, that word holds more than just its meaning. It’s a connection to home, to my roots, to the warmth and spirit of where I grew up. Naming my candle brand LUME was my way of bringing a piece of that fire with me—of sharing the quiet glow of my culture and story in every jar.
Each LUME candle is hand-poured in small batches, using eco soy wax, clean fragrance oils, and reusable jars. I make everything myself, here in East Dulwich, with care and intention. Every scent is created to light up small moments: the ones you slow down for, the ones that feel like home.
There’s more coming, but at its heart, LUME is still that first spark: a love for scent, a love for warmth, and a way to share the fire of where I’m from.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I’m so glad you’re here!
